Meeting Minutes # 3
June 30, 2007

Minutes Meeting #3

Minutes:

1. Mirant Foundation signed an MOA with the club on June 21 to confirm their commitment to be the main sponsor for the birdfest.

2. Ramon Aboitiz Foundation (RAFI) has initially committed to sponsor accomodations for 23 delegates for the dates Sept 20-23 at the Eduardo Aboitiz Studies Center (EASC) and coordinate the invitation for schools.

3. We are still awaiting word regarding sponsorship from CEMEX, Department of Tourism, the Cebu City mayor's office.

4. Confirmed local organizations to date were Philippine Eagle Foundation, Cebu Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Center for Environmental Awareness & Education and Kaakbay CDI.

5. The Wild Bird Society of Taipei is sending a 5-man delegation headed by WBST President Liu Thin-By, WBST Executive Director & Guandu Nature Park Chief Director Jiang Rock, Director Tseng Yun-Long and WBST staff Mr. Stone and Ms. Kuan.

6. Asian Raptor Research & Conservation Network have also confirmed participation. More organizations will be invited based on availability of exhibit space.

7. Arnel Telesforo and Jon Villasper will be going to Cebu on July 7-8 to inspect the venue, speak with booth provider, plan the exhibit area layout, and design the stage and WBCP booth.

8. Mike Lu will accompany them on the trip to Cebu and conduct meetings with DENR and RAFI.

9. 200 sheets of bird fest posters have been printed and will be brought to Cebu on July 7 for initial distribution.

10. Waterfront Hotel has advised the club that 50% downpayment should be made by the 3rd week of July.

11. The Zoo to You by My Zoo Foundation will push through only if the club is able to get freight sponsors for the birds and if Waterfront Hotel would allow birds inside the hotel.

12. Members are encouraged to take out or solicit ads in the souvenir program. The ad sponsorship forms are available on the file section of the WBCP egroup.

13. CBCF has committed to send an article for the souvenir program.

14. Mark Villa will provide the write-up for the logo.

15. Bird photos in the souvenir program will exclusively be of birds taken on-site in Cebu.

16. Tentative schedule of activities are as follows:
