1. After brainstorming on the proposed theme of the festival, the group settled for “Ibong Dayo, Kaibigan Tayo” loosely translated as “Migrant birds, we are your friends”
2. Balanga City Administrator Rudy de Mesa has been appointed as festival co-chair
3. Tentative festival schedule as follows:

October 7 – Wednesday
Arrival of delegates
Launching of Birdwatching in the Philippines, Volume 2 and media launch for 5th Philippine bird festival (proposed to be sponsored by the DOT, ROX and Columbia)

October 8 – Thursday
Departure for Balanga
Bird Conservation Forum
Welcome Dinner by Balanga City Mayor

October 9- Friday
Bird Festival proper
Morning session for high school students
Afternoon session for grade school students (Grade 4-6)
Dinner by the Provincial Governor

October 10- Saturday
Morning session for grade school students (Grade 1-3)
Afternoon free for city tour
Farewell Dinner
October 11 – Sunday
Depart for Manila

4. Commitees as follows:
Sponsorship Committee – Felix Servita
Sponsorship letters will be available soon.
Sponsorship packages (same as last year): Main sponsor (P500,000.00), Major sponsor (P200,000.00), Minor sponsor (P100,000.00) and Donor (P50,000.00)
Souvenir program ads: prices yet to be finalized

Souvenir Program Committee – Trinket Canlas & Adri Constantino
Trinket will solicit articles from certain members. Additional articles regarding birdwatching, & birds, particularly in Bataan will be appreciated.

Exhibit Committee - Jon Villasper
Bird tarps, stickers and coloring sheets to be made by Jon Villasper
Bird fest logo made by Arnel Telesforo can be seen on the homepage of the club’s website, Additional tarps on birdwatching and birds in the Philippines will also be made by Arnel.

Exhibitors Committee – Mike Lu
Invitations to be sent to local environmental organizations and foreign bird clubs depending on the number of booths that can be accommodated on the venue. It was suggested that the booths be placed outdoors in order to accommodate more students inside. Balanga LGU to be asked if there are suppliers of tents in Balanga.

Logistics Committee – Ixi Mapua
Balanga LGU will try to get sponsorship from Genesis transport for transport requirements of delegates.

Delegates will stay at the Crown Royale Hotel as it is within walking distance of the festival venue at the capitol grounds.

5. Mike will discuss with DOT and ROX the extent of their sponsorship for this festival.
