1. Proposed program for Asian Bird Fair public launch on June 13 at the NCCC Mall in Davao City:

1400-1415 Video Showing: Avian Archipelago
1415-1430 Bird Identification Contest
1430-1530 Bird Coloring Activity
1530-1545 Announcement of Bird Fair Invitation Art Contest
                Announcement of Essay Writing Contest
1545-1600 Give out brochures and birdwatching tips
                Children who birdwatching to submit report/birdlist will get special prize during Bird Fair

2. Anna Gonzales of Programs Committee will write out mechanics and coordinate with the Philippine Eagle Foundation to see if the proposed activities/contests can be done.
3. A media launch will be scheduled later in July or August, 2010. Balanga City Mayor Joet Garcia has accepted invitation to give a testimonial speech during the media launch in Davao. The schedule will be worked out with the office of Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte.
4. Committee Updates:

Sponsorship Committee – Felix Servita

- The Club will open a dollar account to accept sponsorship from foreign sources
- Team Energy Foundation has signed up to be a main sponsor
- As we expect a more substantial souvenir program this year, our target amount to be raised is P 200,000.00 to break even.
- The inside front cover and inside back cover of the souvenir program have already been reserved

Delegates Committee – Tere Cervero & Kitty Arce

- Invitations have been sent out to 24 foreign organizations. Asian Bird Fair founding organizations Chinese Wild Bird Federation, Wild Bird Society of Taipei, Malaysian Nature Society, Bird Conservation Society of Thailand and Nature Society (Singapore) are assumed to attend the 1st Asian Bird Fair.
- Organizations that have confirmed participation are Shanghai Wild Bird Society , Borneo Bird Club, Kaoshiung Wild Bird Society, Fauna & Flora International
- Organizations that have signified interest to participate are Oriental Bird Club, The Wetland Trust, Wild Bird Society of Japan, Hong Kong Birdwatching Society, Nepal Bird Conservation, Biodiversity & Nature Conservation Association (Myanmar)
- Nepal Bird Conservation and Biodiversity & Nature Conservation Association (Myanmar) have requested travel expense assistance
- Dr Hum Gwung of Nepal Bird Conservation have offered to give a lecture on ecotourism
- Cede Prudente of Borneo Bird Club has offered to give a presentation on birdwatching sites in Borneo
- Local organizations will be sent invitations next week
- Selected LGUs will be invited
- Participants to be advised to arrive in Davao on September 23. If they are arriving on September 22, WBCP can book rooms at the Orchid Garden Suites charged to their account,
- Kaakbay through Alain Pascua will provide volunteers to man the exhibitors’ booths

Souvenir Program Committee – Trinket Canlas & Adri Constantino

- LuAnn Fuentes will edit articles, Jhoel Jorda will follow-up on articles to be submitted and Felix Servita will collate ads
- Founding members of the Asian Bird Fair will be asked to send a short introduction about their organizations
- WBCP members will be asked to contribute articles for the souvenir program

Program Committee – Anna Gonzales and Arnel Telesforo

- Dr. Bo Puentespina of Malagos Garden Resort will conduct two interactive bird learning sessions on Friday (September 24)
- Trinket Canlas and Maan Guzman will conduct a tidal flat walk for students during low tide at the hotel beachfront
- Kaakbay will organize a Fun Run for the Environment on Saturday (Sept 25) morning

Post-festival Birdwatching Committee – Adri Constantino & Jun Osano

- Birding Adventure Philippines is offering a post-festival birdwatching trip to Mt Kitanglad with an extension trip to PICOP. The details have been sent to the foreign delegates
- Jun Osano will organize a trip to PICOP. Bislig Vice Mayor Conrad Cejoco has offered to sponsor the local transport and hotel accommodations for the visitors.
- Philippine Eagle Foundation will also organize a post-festival birding trip to be announced later
